The first month of 2016 is nearly over!

Have you made or updated your business plan?

As you get back to work after the holiday season it is easy to just drift along for a time. This is time wasted. While the past year is fresh in your mind take a look back and think forward.

Take a quick look back at 2015. What were the good points? What needs improving?

This is a good time to update the SWOT analysis for your business.

Once you have done this set some goals. These should be the desired outcomes to achieve in 2016.

Then outline the specific objectives required to achieve these goals. You should involve your team with this process and assign specific responsibilities for the actions needed.

You then need to timetable the actions as part of your annual plan.

Finally agree the numbers – produce a budget by month.

Once you have this work done, do not just file it away. You plan is a living document that should be reviewed every month.

Treat your plan as the GPS of your business. If it is not turned on you will struggle to find your destination.
